The Cast of GodSeed Meet Senka

GodSeed: Meet Senka

Originally from my Patreon!

The Thing That Came From The Forest

A former demonic entity known as a Shadow. Somehow, he was brought to flesh by a pact forged with Laelia.

Not much else is known about Senka. He appeared from The Dark Forest with Laelia on his back, the princess on the edge of death. Immediately, he was apprehended by Romalian forces.

Senka claims to have saved Laelia, yet has no prior memory of their meeting, nor the details of their agreement.

Personality sliders

Pessimistic, sarcastic, and reserved, Senka is the definition of difficult. It’s unclear if there is anything deeper to him beyond the walls he’s put up, or if he is just simply as evil as everyone claims him to be.

Design

Senka’s full body art

Height: 6’4″

Build: Tall, medium build

Eyes: Unnaturally blue, almost aqua

Skin tone: Medium, though grayed, with visible veining and discoloration

Face shape: Oblong with a bumpy/Roman nose

Hair Color: Pitch black, blue undertones

Hair style: Subtle wolf-cut, short and layered with longer back

Demeanor: Something is just off and wrong about this one

Notes

  • His ears should never show through his hair. His hair is very thick, and his ears are always covered by its layers.
  • He has a runner’s build/physique
  • His eyes glow in the dark
  • He possesses no Tresc

Likes

Snow

He’s oddly captivated by winter time, and seems to enjoy it, especially the snow.

Silence

Chatter and noise drives him mad. He prefers the company of silence instead.

Sweets

For someone so sour, he sure does get excited over sugary treats.

Dislikes

Romalia

A burning passion and hatred for Romalia has been his defining trait since he emerged from the forest.

Nobility

He hates the wealthy and elite just as much, it seems.

Bland food

It seems nothing in the realm of cuisine has been up to his palette within the borders of Romalia.

Skills & Abilities

SHADOW INSTINCT/SHADOWMANCY

The manipulation of Shadows to bend to his will, to be shaped and molded (temporarily) into physical attacks and objects.

So long as he is obscured by darkness, Senka can manipulate his form into just about any shape he pleases. From slipping through cracks to growing to the size of a dragon, the possibilities are endless. The darker the shadow, the farther he can push the extent of the transformation.

SHADOW CONTROL

In brightly lit places, his powers are more limited, though by connecting shadows together, he can hold others in paralysis.

WEAPONS

Adapt at swordplay, specifically with scimitars.

Strengths

Survival Instincts

When pushed against the wall, the man is able to find a quick solution to save his skin.

Persistent

He does not give up. Ever.

Unique Magic

Senka’s abilities are an echo of dark and distant Elemental Instincts long lost to the people of Tellure, an element so powerful that it was confiscated from mortals by the Goddesses themselves. Having such magic back in the world is an incredibly rare opportunity to study and learn from it for the sake of history, and also take enemies completely by surprise.

Weaknesses

Short Fuse

It’s easy to get under Senka’s skin. Petty remarks and commands are quick to set him off.

Selfish

10/10 times, he will put himself first.

Distrusting

It’s Senka against the world, and the world against him in return, so it seems.

Summary

The thing that came from the forest…

Everything about the man is a mystery, but one thing is for certain: despite his humanoid appearance, he is still a Shadow, a being of pure evil from The Dark Forest. He cannot and should not be trusted, and should never be left out of sight. Who knows what he could be capable of…

Fun Facts

  • He was originally created in 2014.
  • His biggest character inspirations are Kovu from Lion King II: Simba’s Pride and Hak from Yona Of The Dawn.
  • Over the years, his design hasn’t really changed much! Below is a preview from ~2014.

GodSeed: Meet Sylvia

Emerald Flames. Frozen Heart.

Sylvia Mynteu is a survivor of harsh conditions and harsher culture. After losing her arm, she was rejected by her people and immigrated to Romalia for safety and recovery. A desire for accomplishment led her on the path to working for the crown.

Sylvia is a Dual Elemental, an exceptionally rare individual with two Elemental Instincts. Her Earth Magic is very weak, but her Fire Magic is incredibly strong, her flames burning a bright hot green.

Personality

The strict culture of her home has led Sylvia to be a black-and-white thinker. She detests laziness and grows agitated with those who are “useless”. Her culture’s focus on achievement and status has also caused her to never feel satisfied. Despite serving a Princess, it’s not enough. Sylvia is constantly striving for bigger and better.

Design

Height: 5’0″

Build: Lithe, toned

Eyes: Pale green

Skin tone: Warm, rosy, apricot

Face shape: Rectangle

Hair Color: Champagne pink

Hair style: Short/spiky, two long braids on the side

Demeanor: Confident, proper, intimidating

Likes

Order

Rigid standards, following rules, truthful to a fault. Order is how a society functions, and how families function; acting outside those rules is a quick way to get on Sylvia’s bad side.

Control

Having control over her environment brings comfort. Achieving a rank above others helps as well, allowing her to establish order.

Tea

Growing up in a family of avid tea drinkers, it’s the little tastes of home that keep her going sometimes.

Summer

Though it took a long while for her to grow accustomed to the heat of a lower altitude, Sylvia thrives in it.

Dislikes

Rule Breakers

Disorderly conduct is the first step to mutiny. Sylvia has a no-nonsense approach and follows the rules, no questions asked.

Greens

Living in a herb-cultivating and farming culture has soured her taste for leafy greens.

Laziness

She cannot for the life of her understand people who are content to stay in place. Sylvia is always pushing herself for bigger and better things.

Fire Magic

Despite being a master of her own Fire Instinct, it leaves a bad taste in her mouth.

Skills & Abilities

Fire Instinct

A master of the art of Fire Magic, Sylvia is one of the most skilled users of the element in the land.

Herbology

Her homeland is known for its rare medicinal herbs, and she learned the skills to create potent medicines, toxins, etc., in her time growing up.

Sense of Smell

Like all members of the Semideus species, she has a heightened sense of smell. However, Sylvia has specifically been trained to sniff out poisons.

Intimidation

Despite her short stature, Sylvia’s unwavering fierceness can shrink just about anyone to her will.

Natural Form

Though she refuses to use it, she can shapeshift into a fox form.

Strengths

Resilient

No matter how cruel fate, how difficult the setback, Sylvia will push through it.

High Aspirations

Despite her low self-esteem, Sylvia knows she can always do and be better. Her belief in herself cannot be squashed.

Disciplined

She holds herself accountable for all of her goals. Up at the crack of dawn, healthy meals, lots of training, and always presentable.

Flexible

Even when blindsided, Sylvia is able to adapt well to new situations and environments.

Summary

Childhood

Sylvia grew up in an incredibly harsh and strict climate. One’s best bet to being seen as an equal was to have a strong Earth Instinct. These individuals were the lifeblood of the community, celebrated and honored.

However, Sylvia was not so lucky. Her Earth Instinct was weak, only powerful enough to make seedlings sprout or a flower to bloom before spending her energy. No amount of training would make it stronger.

Sylvia became a trail runner afterward, scaling the mountains to deliver medicines to other communities. On one such run, she fell to what should have been her death, breaking her arm into several pieces and damaging her spine. On the edge of consciousness, she tried to climb back up with one arm, and from her desperation, fire sprang to her fingertips. It was these flames that would keep her from freezing to death before she was found.

Looking Forward

Disabled and dishonored, Sylvia would immigrate to Romalia, living with her Uncle and his wife and helping them with their flower shop as she pushed herself day in and day out to strengthen her back and legs.

After years of physical therapy, she would walk well enough again, though the cold would aggravate the aches and pains. Still, she pushed herself to join the military, eager to prove herself and create her own destiny. Her fire magic at this point was exceptionally honed, and her prowess would not go unrecognized. Eventually, she was scouted by the Queen of Romalia herself to work in the palace as a Retainer to one of her children.

Fun Facts

  • Sylvia is a Dual Elemental, an exceptionally rare individual with two Elemental Instincts. Her Earth Magic is very weak, but her Fire Magic is incredibly strong.
  • Despite her distaste for her homeland’s culture, she still enjoys the food and traditions. Her long braids are one of the few things she’s kept from her past.
  • She was created in 2012. Sylvia is technically the oldest GodSeed character, created before the story was conceptualized, and was worked into the plot later on.

the cast of godseed meet laelia

GodSeed: Meet Laelia

Originally from my Patreon post here

Laelia Eirini Gardenia De Romalia I, the sole daughter of the Romalian royal family, was born over four decades after the Romalian Empire’s collapse and the death of her grandmother, Lycoris the Tyrant. Her birth was subject to secrecy, born with a Near Human nature. Though her family possessed pyrokinesis, manipulated the winds, and could shapeshift, she remained powerless and fragile.

Despite her flaws, they considered her birth a blessing, perfectly timed for a marriage arranged thousands of years earlier. Her journey home from the engagement takes an unexpected turn when she becomes lost in The Dark Forest, where a Shadow promises to save her—for a price.

personality sliders

Her isolated upbringing made Laelia reserved and awkward. What she lacks in social etiquette, though, she makes up for in empathy. Her tendency is to put others first, even at her own expense, and always do the right thing. She’ll likely agree to most requests if helping others is involved.

Laelia In Uniform

Notes

  • Under her right (viewer’s left) eye, she has a small, faint scar.
  • Though born Near-Human, Laelia possesses one Draconic trait: slit pupils.
  • Like her father’s family, Laelia inherited a two toned hair color.

Likes

Reading

With a life of solitude and seclusion comes a yearning for escapism. From an early age, she became an avid reader, delving into fantastic worlds and later to more intricate topics of study. Her reading speed and level are well above average.

Helping others

Seeing others happy and thriving, just for the sake of it, makes her happier than anything.

Frilly fashion

Pastels, frills, lace, dresses, skirts, blouses. She loves feminine clothing and dressing up.

Fruit

She is a big sweets person, and will incorporate fruit into most her meals.

Dislikes

Violence, War

Pain and suffering are intolerable to her, inexcusable no matter the reasoning.

Solitude

So much time alone can make one go insane.

Rain

Something about the gloom and quiet makes her heart ache.

Meat

She would prefer not to eat flesh, if she can help it.

Skills & Abilities

HEALING KISS

Despite her lack of Elemental Instinct, she seems to possess a Healing Kiss that can close wounds in an instant, though at cost to her own body.

LANGUAGE

Not exactly fluent, but has knowledge of many languages. She knows enough to piece together a sentence or the tone/topic of a passage.

POLITICS

A more recent topic of study she picked up when her betrothal was announced. Has an in-depth knowledge of her country’s political structure and workings.

HISTORY

With so much time to spare between pages, Laelia has a wealth of knowledge regarding her nation’s (and surrounding nations’) histories.

SWORDPLAY

Average skills in swordplay, specifically with rapiers. Focuses on self defense, uses her cape. Though she has potential, her practice was not well-encouraged by her mother.

Strengths

EMPATHETIC

Despite being a Princess of a major world power, Laelia was not exposed to high society or other members of the nobility. Instead, she developed a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others through reading, both fiction and non-fiction alike. Because of that, she’s developed aspirations to aid and help others.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS

Strict and authoritative parenting has created a sneaky, secretive young woman who finds creative ways to rebel despite her circumstances.

QUICK LEARNER

She enjoys studying as a hobby, and so absorbs new information quickly. Although her hands on experience is limited, she has a decent understanding of various skills through reading.

Weaknesses

BLEEDING HEART

Her care for others often goes too far, often to self-sacrificial levels.

NAIVE

Unfamiliar with the world around her, only has book smarts. Overly trusting. It is easy to manipulate and lie to her.

NEEDY

Desperately craves attention and external validation.

SOCIALLY ANXIOUS

Without much practice in socialization and conversation, she is an unwilling hermit that longs for connection, but no idea how to achieve it.

Summary

Childhood

In a world populated by descendants of goddesses, Laelia was born nearly human, possessing neither magic nor a Natural Form. To protect her life and the country’s future stability, they kept the birth of the frail child, the only female heir to the Romalian royal family, a secret from everyone outside the palace. She experienced constant loneliness and exclusion from her family, treated less than like a child and more as a fragile porcelain doll. Even her staff were afraid to touch her, for fear of breaking her. Her few “friends” were the personal guards she’d had since childhood, a pen pal, and the characters in her favorite books.

Looking Forward

Her only chance at a brighter future rested solely on her qualification to marry her childhood friend and pen pal, the neighboring country’s only male heir. By marrying him, she realized she could become more than a doll, educating herself in political affairs and history to become a fitful ruler. Still, she yearns to help others directly, as a member of her country’s Peace Corps.

Fun Facts

  • Her initial design was based on a military lolita coat and wig.
  • In recent years, her aesthetic has become more influenced by old Barbie movies.
  • Her original character inspirations were Kiara from Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, Nanami Momozono from Kamisama Kiss and Rapunzel from Tangled.
  • She was originally created in 2014.

The Cast of GodSeed Meet Priamus

GodSeed: Meet Priamus

Original Patreon post here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/godseed-meet-150784535

Moon Chosen. Crown Prince by necessity. Priamus is one of two romance-able options in the game version of GodSeed, and a Deuteragonist in the novelization. He is the Fiance of the MC, Laelia, and currently first in line to the throne of his home country, Remine.

Backstory

Priamus Luan Fengari de Remine I, the sole son of the Reminese royal family, was born over four decades after Remine’s assistance in dismantling the Romalian Empire, spearheaded by his mother, Paradisea de Remine. His birth was subject to scrutiny, born with lame wings that inhibited his ability to fly, leaving him stuck on the ground as his sister soared above him.

However, an ages old family curse emerged after centuries of slumber. First, it claimed his father, then, his mother, killing her not long after the birth of a daughter. It would spread further, leaving his elder sister severely ill and putting him first in line for the throne.

A man and woman laying in a field of roses

Personality

A calm and caring you man, well studied and spoken. Priamus is the prime example of a proper prince, though he is perhaps a bit more introverted than one would expect. He does not partake in court affairs, and prefers the solitude of a pen and paper.

Design

Digital bust artwork of a bespectacled man with green hair and gold eyes
Priamus’ old design, with deep green hair and golden eyes

Originally created in ~2014, Priamus has since undergone a total redesign. His original design depicted him with forest green hair and gold eyes. I had a bad habit of making my winged characters with that green/gold combo (hell, even Jarek, another cast member had the combo… It made far too many characters look related when they were not). The green coloration is still present in his sister, Actias.

Full body digital artwork of a silver haired winged man wearing a silver princely uniform. He holds a flower in his lowered left hand and props up a butterfly on the right.
Priamus’ new design, with silver hair and feathered features

Priamus’ new design ties into his new backstory: Moon Chosen. A belief among the worshipers of Lunetta, the late Goddess of the Moon, that Reminese royalty with white or silver hair are divinely chosen by the Goddesses to rule. His hair had begun to silver quickly after Actias fell ill. Many took it as a decree from the heavens that Priamus, despite his disabilities, would save their nation.

Likes

Perfumes/Colognes

He prefers to be well groomed, clean and put together, and the finishing touch is always a pleasant aroma.

Performance Art

Plays have always been of interest to him, especially tales of religion and mythology. He’s even managed to extend this interest to his fiancé, Laelia, and the two takes turn analyzing stories through their letters.

Stationary

He’s particular about pens and paper, their feel and quality. He’s got quite a collection.

Coffee

Black, cream and sugar, flavored, he loves it all.

Dislikes

Blood

He’s not quite Hemophobic, but he has a strong aversion to blood. Small amounts will not bother him, but any amount that could fill a vial may give him panic attacks, especially if the blood is coming from an injured woman.

Foul Language

He detests colorful language and harsh words.

Tea

It doesn’t matter how many brews he’s tried, from the Astronomian Tsardom’s minty blends to the Telluric Provinces’ floral specialties. Tea is just not his thing.

Skills & Abilities

Sound Magic

A highly skilled form of Air Instinct/Air Magic, honed and crafted into force and vibration through sound waves. Priamus uses his to create music, though he refuses to share, citing anxiety as the primary reason.

Creative Writing

Priamus’ weekly letters to his fiancé, Laelia, strengthened his creative writing talent, as he penned short stories to amuse her while confined to her rooms.

Religion

From studying religion in his youth, Priamus has knowledge of many ancient rituals and traditions.

Speaking

While his mother was sick, Priamus would read to her, whether it be official letters and documents or fantasy tales from a book. From all the practice, he’s become an excellent speaker, and that translated well for public affairs.

Strengths

Analytical

Introspective, a thinker, Priamus is highly observant and his mind is always working to pick apart a problem into manageable pieces.

Patient

All things come in due time. Able to see the big picture and the steps it takes to get there, Priamus knows that some things cannot be rushed.

Proper

An exemplary Prince, he is polite, well spoken and an upstanding Reminese man. A perfect gentleman.

Weaknesses

Severe Depression

Life has not been kind to Priamus. He developed a deep depression after losing his Mother that just won’t ebb, no matter how many years pass, and has no idea how to work through the grief. As such, he’s because increasingly withdrawn.

Touch Aversion

He has an aversion to being touched, and will not usually accept so much as a handshake from anyone outside his immediate circle. He wears gloves at all times and refuses physical contact unless they are light, passing touches (taps on the shoulder, a pat on the arm).

Flightless

The muscles in his wings never finished developing in the womb, leaving him unable to fly. Many consider this to be the first symptom of his family’s curse reawakening.

Summary

Moon-Chosen

The only son born to the Reminese royal family, though not initially first in line to its throne. Priamus was the second born sibling of his house, and as such his destiny was to lead religious practices in his home country by becoming High Celebrant of the Temple Of The Moon. Fate would have other plans, though, when a centuries old family curse resurfaced to claim both the lives of his mother and father, before it disabled his elder sister, Actias, who was the chosen heir of their realm. All seemed hopeless until Priamus’ hair began to silver, a sign he’d been chosen by the Moon Goddess to become Remine’s future king.

Fun Facts!

  • In his current design, the tips of his hair are a washed out purple, but before he began to gray, it was the same rich purple as his mother’s.
  • His original concept design depicted him with forest green hair.
  • He was originally created in 2014.

Portrait shot of a young woman with pink hair and fox ears, staring at her hand against a snowy backdrop. Caption reads: TW: Gore, broken limbs, visible bones

Sylvia

Old excerpt from 2012, detailing a bit of her backstory:

When she was young, Sylvia lived with her father and younger sister in a small tribe of mountainous farming families. The mountain was very secluded from city boundaries and rocky, but it had amazingly fertile soil. People called it a miracle, but many who lived on that mountain died tragic deaths, Sylvia’s mother included.

The constant ice and wind were a hazard on their trails, and Sylvia’s mother made the fatal mistake of slipping. It was the first and last time. When her body had been retrieved, Sylvia was presented with her mother’s earrings. After that day, she never took them off.

Years later, while walking back home with her sister, Sylvia herself slipped, falling face-first down the tall side of the mountain. She hit many ledges on her way down, bruising and cutting her body. In her shock, she never had a chance to try to protect herself. Her left arm caught itself numerous times on ledges and sharp surfaces. It broke, and before she could blink, she had landed, breaking the upper part of her left arm practically in half.

When she’d been found days later, freezing and losing blood, there’d been no hope to save her arm. By then she’d already lost all feeling in it, and it’d turned a shade of sickening purple-gray. She lost her dominant arm, and her legs had also been damaged. She didn’t walk as well as she used to, and she could not run without feeling pain.

She still swears to this day that the only reason she’s alive is because she’d wore her mother’s earrings, and that her mother had been with her.

Since she no longer had two good, working, arms, her father sent her away to live a safer life with her Aunt and Uncle. These days she enjoys keeping after her Aunt’s home and flower shop. She makes vases and paints them for a job, she also babysits once in a while.
